Donkas Lab @ Sunway Geo Avenue Not really a fan of korean food. The things I usually go for when it comes to korean is limited to Korean Fried Chicken and some Korean BBQ once in awhile. But the food here is so good and it opened my eyes to a new type of korean food which I actually enjoy. I don't know if the D in the signboard is spoiled or is it on purpose. The settings of the place is as followed; The ambiance of the place is very modern and contemporary where the outlet focuses not just on food but also on entertainments as well. The restaurant includes a personal stage where there will be singing performance during the weekends and a kids playground as well. The restaurant just opened this year and it is still fairly unknown to most people. Donkas Lab specializes in donkas which is the equivalent of Korean's version of Japan's dish, Tonkatsu which is basically pork cutlet. What makes donkas special is how the meat complements with ...
Sushi Mentai @ USJ 9 When you think about Japanese food, the first thing that comes to mind is the hole in your pocket after leaving the shop and in most of these restaurants, the cost for two measly pieces of sushi per plate really makes you feel like it is a luxurious food. This the reason why when the restaurant first appeared in the market, its business took off and hasn't slowed down since as it specializes in fresh, tasty and most importantly cheap sushi. The shop is easily recognizable as all of their shops has a bright yellow as their base color. The settings of the place is as followed; The space is limited but the restaurant is able to fit most of their customers. Be ready to wait for at least 15 minutes during peak hours especially dinner time. However, the service is pretty good even though it gets crowded. There are 50 types of sushi and an additional 30 choices of daily special sushi to choose from. And this is the best part; Su...
Fei Fan Hotpot @ SS15 My girlfriend and I have been regularly eating at Fei Fan Hotpot lately as we find the food pretty decent and value for money. We used to frequently go for Sukiya until we first tried Fei Fan in SS15 Courtyard before continuing sticking to them. What makes Fei Fan different compared to their competitors is that they offer a wholesome meal as it is a buffet style steamboat. Their steamboat includes a Hongkie element to it where their soup has a option of pepper pig's stomach soup, pork bone, spicy 'ma la' and tomato broth. Personally, we both prefer the pork bone and spicy 'ma la' soup as we both love spicy. Soup-wise, I feel that it is slightly above average. There are many hotpot places with better soups but however, among all the buffet hotpot selections, this one stands out the most among all the other options. You have the privilege to choose from variety of meat which are chicken in rice wine, chicken s...
