Fei Fan Hotpot

Fei Fan Hotpot @ SS15
My girlfriend and I have been regularly eating at Fei Fan Hotpot lately as we find the food pretty decent and value for money. We used to frequently go for Sukiya until we first tried Fei Fan in SS15 Courtyard before continuing sticking to them.

What makes Fei Fan different compared to their competitors is that they offer a wholesome meal as it is a buffet style steamboat. Their steamboat includes a Hongkie element to it where their soup has a option of pepper pig's stomach soup, pork bone, spicy 'ma la' and tomato broth. Personally, we both prefer the pork bone and spicy 'ma la' soup as we both love spicy.

Soup-wise, I feel that it is slightly above average. There are many hotpot places with better soups but however, among all the buffet hotpot selections, this one stands out the most among all the other options.

You have the privilege to choose from variety of meat which are chicken in rice wine, chicken slice, pork belly, pork shoulder, pork liver, pork intestines and beef to go along with your hotpot. They also include chive dumplings, prawn dumplings, handmade pork and beef balls, as well as fish noodles. Besides that, there are also selections of vegetables, egg, noodles and frozen meatballs to include in your overall experience.

 The most intriguing thing about this hotpot is their wide variety of sauce selection where you can choose from more than ten types of sauces to create your own sauce for the hotpot. It also includes beverages and soft serve ice cream to enjoy.

The setting of the place is as followed;
Indoor is air-conditioned but it's full most of the time due to reservations

Outdoor has an contemporary design which is very simple and minimal. It is not as bad as it seems where it is really cooling as they have multiple fans to keep u cool.

Overall, I like Fei Fan Hotpot a lot because for that affordable price, the food is still very good. It's better to go during their lunch hours if you are cost-driven.

However, the best part of this restaurant is that they offer student pricing! Cheap buffet? We have nothing against that!

Price: 7/10
Ambiance: 6.5/10
Food: 6.5/10
Verdict: Good value for money, okay meat selection, good broth
