Nyonya Cendol

Image
Nyonya Cendol @ Main Place Nyonya Cendol first outlet was in Summit where I first found out about this gem. My girlfriend first introduced me to this place when I was craving cendol and she remembered about this place. Last year, the restaurant expanded to Main Place mall where it attracts more crowd. The restaurant serves the best authentic nyonya cuisine which sells at a decent price to its customers.   The settings of the place are as followed; A small restaurant located at the lowest floor of Main Place mall. The seats are closed to each other but you wouldn't feel stuffy and claustrophobic as the restaurant is air-conditioned as well as brightly lit. The set up is pretty minimal as well making it look like a Chinese coffee house. The service is pretty decent as they have more than enough stuff to be attentive.  Nasi Lemak '3 Rasa' Ayam Goreng Berempah (RM 10.90) The nasi lemak with mixed different of rice served with fried chicken is my favourite food in

Formosa

Formosa @ Sunway Pyramid Found this gem in Sunway Pyramid ever since my college friends first introduced me to this shop. Since then, I have been coming back regularly to satisfy my cravings for fried chicken.  Tuck in a corner of Pyramid's Asian Avenue, the restaurant is one of the longest serving eateries in the mall. They earn their crowd's heart through their authentic Taiwanese street food which sells at a bargain price.  The settings of the place are as followed; The seats are beside the walkway and are closed to each other but it doesn't feel suffocating. The set up is very minimal as they follow a street food concept. Aside from food being served to you, the restaurant is mainly self-service and you have to order at the counter as well as finding your own seats.  The menu offers many combinations of their signature dishes. I usually opt for the set that comes with a drink as I find it the most value for money.  Set B2 (RM 15.10) Set B2

Boran Thai Street Food

Image
Boran Thai Food @ Subang Jaya Boran Thai Food in Subang Jaya is really special. Amongst many restaurants and cafes that are open in the area, Boran still stands out and it's known to be favourites to many when it comes to Thai food including myself.  The restaurant stole the hearts of many even though it has only opened not long ago. This is the second branch where it has branched out from PJ's Seapark.  The settings of the place are as followed; The ambiance of the place is pretty simple and laid back. It mirrors the name of the restaurant where it feels like you're eating street food in Thailand itself. The wall decors brightens up the place a lot making me feel like its a cool place. The restaurant starts to crowd up around 8 so it's better to be there earlier than that. However, service is prompt and attentive even during the rush.  Thai Ice Tea (RM 5.00) If you love Thai Milk Tea, you'll definitely love what Boran offers! It is

Nirwana Maju

Nirwana Maju @ USJ 9 Banana leaf rice is a MUST to try when you're spending your time in Malaysia. Indian authentic curry is to die for. Once you've tried it, you're definitely gonna crave for more. That's the case for me as I frequently make my way back to my favourite banana leaf place in Subang which is Nirwana Maju. For ya'll curry lovers, continue on with the post! The restaurant occupies the corner lot so it is easily noticeable in case you have trouble finding it.  The settings of the place are as followed; The ambiance of the place is a bit stuffy for me as it is not air conditioned. But the place was decorated with colourful lanterns hanging up the ceiling and it is pretty spacious to accommodate customer's that comes in groups which is a plus factor. The service was pretty good as well even when I went there during peak hours as the wait would only be a mere 10 minutes.  Once we were seated, the waiters took our orders and

Donkas Lab

Image
Donkas Lab @ Sunway Geo Avenue Not really a fan of korean food. The things I usually go for when it comes to korean is limited to Korean Fried Chicken and some Korean BBQ once in awhile. But the food here is so good and it opened my eyes to a new type of korean food which I actually enjoy.  I don't know if the D in the signboard is spoiled or is it on purpose.  The settings of the place is as followed; The ambiance of the place is very modern and contemporary where the outlet focuses not just on food but also on entertainments as well. The restaurant includes a personal stage where there will be singing performance during the weekends and a kids playground as well. The restaurant just opened this year and it is still fairly unknown to most people. Donkas Lab specializes in donkas which is the equivalent of Korean's version of Japan's dish, Tonkatsu which is basically pork cutlet. What makes donkas special is how the meat complements with

Sushi Mentai

Image
Sushi Mentai @ USJ 9 When you think about Japanese food, the first thing that comes to mind is the hole in your pocket after leaving the shop and in most of these restaurants, the cost for two measly pieces of sushi per plate really makes you feel like it is a luxurious food. This the reason why when the restaurant first appeared in the market, its business took off and hasn't slowed down since as it specializes in fresh, tasty and most importantly cheap sushi. The shop is easily recognizable as all of their shops has a bright yellow as their base color.  The settings of the place is as followed; The space is limited but the restaurant is able to fit most of their customers. Be ready to wait for at least 15 minutes during peak hours especially dinner time. However, the service is pretty good even though it gets crowded.   There are 50 types of sushi and an additional 30 choices of daily special sushi to choose from. And this is the best part; Sushi's

Fei Fan Hotpot

Image
Fei Fan Hotpot @ SS15 My girlfriend and I have been regularly eating at Fei Fan Hotpot lately as we find the food pretty decent and value for money. We used to frequently go for Sukiya until we first tried Fei Fan in SS15 Courtyard before continuing sticking to them.  What makes Fei Fan different compared to their competitors is that they offer a wholesome meal as it is a buffet style steamboat. Their steamboat includes a Hongkie element to it where their soup has a option of pepper pig's stomach soup, pork bone, spicy 'ma la' and tomato broth. Personally, we both prefer the pork bone and spicy 'ma la' soup as we both love spicy. Soup-wise, I feel that it is slightly above average. There are many hotpot places with better soups but however, among all the buffet hotpot selections, this one stands out the most among all the other options.  You have the privilege to choose from variety of meat which are chicken in rice wine, chicken s
