Upstairs Café

Image
Upstairs  Café @ SS12 I first learned about this place 4 years ago before I started my foundations in Sunway while my friend has already begin his foundation. Then one fine day, he decided on bringing us there and since then, it was just a stone's throwaway.  The cafe is located on the second floor and it is pretty hidden if you are a first-timer even though the cafe has already been around for ages.  The settings of the place is as followed; The ambiance of the place is really cozy and homey however the cafe is really small where is only able to serve few customers. The songs played are mostly blues and instrumental jazz which played a big factor to me to feel relaxed being there. The employees there are really friendly and welcoming however when there is a full house, they tend to be less attentive.  There are a wide range of food served by the cafe which ranges from breakfast meals and lunch/dinner menus. ...

Gold Chili

Image
Gold Chili, Subang ss15 Gold Chili is famous for their buttermilk. It is located at ss15. There are 2 outlets at ss15 alone which shows how students find their buttermilk delicious. Most of their customers are the students and also the workers around as they serve a large portion of food at a reasonable price. It might get little crowded during peak hour but the quality of their meal just remains as rich and good.  'Gold Chili' serves a variety of foods beside buttermilk such as fried rice, vegetables and seafood. Therefore, it is a good place for group of people to come as they can share different food.  However, their famous food is still the buttermilk chicken. The chicken is very tender in the inside and crispy on the outside and the sauce is very rich and sweet. Customers usually eat their buttermilk chicken with the rice. Their rice is just normal rice without any fragrant but it still goes very well with the sweetness of the sauce. It usually costs around...

Nam Heong

Image
Nam Heong, Damen USJ  'Nam Heong' is a higher end Chinese restaurant that mostly serves pastry. Nam Heong is a restaurant that focuses on the famous food of 'Ipoh' such as coffee, pastry and their 'Hor Fun'. Throughout the years, 'Nam Heong' has opened few shops around Kuala Lumpur. Nam Heong serves pastry such as egg tart. It is a good gather point for people who usually go for their high-tea as it is an indoor seating restaurant with air-conditioned. It usually gets busier at 2p.m. Egg Tart is one of their famous dish. It costs around RM4 per egg tart which is quite expensive compared to the hawker stall at the roadside. However, based on my experience it has the rich taste of the egg in between and it is very packed and the side is very crispy which I think that is how an egg tart should be. For the money, it is pretty worth it for the egg tart and also the environment. Customers usually have their pastry with the coffee. Their coffee...

Dao

Image
Dao, Subang ss15 Dao is a dessert shop that is located at ss15. This dessert shop focuses on soymilk and beancurd and all their soya is different from the others and they are freshly made. This place is usually not as crowded compared to the 'boba street'. Therefore, it is a really good place for students to chill with their friend with silent environment.   This is one of their famous dessert. This is the beancurd with the black sesame paste. I usually order this with 'tong yuen' with just RM1 extra charges.  Their ice-cream is also one of their popular item in the store. The taste of their ice-cream is soymilk which is very rare in Kuala Lumpur as most of the ice-cream always go with the main-stream such as vanilla and chocolate. This ice-cream costs around RM3 to RM4 which is almost same as the ice-creams that are being sold in 'Family-Mart' but the quality of this ice-cream is much better compared to the 'Family Mart'. The texture of t...

Rojak and Cendol

Image
Rojak and Cendol, Subang ss15 This is the most famous 'Rojak' and 'Cendol' not just in ss15 but in the whole Kuala Lumpur. Even though it is just a stall at the roadside instead of a shop but the taste of their 'Rojak' and 'Cendol' is undeniable the best in town. It operates from 11.30a.m to 7.30p.m.  This plate of dish is a mixture of prawn, octopus, cucumbers, and others drowned with a spicy nut sauce. This might not look as good as it tastes but it is going to worth the price and time. Extra mixings can be added with charges as well. This plate of dish only costs around RM4.50 to RM5.  This is the 'Cendol' that is served at the stall and there are many students from around the campus to come to get this during their short break to treat it as a sweet-bite. The bowl of sweetness is a mixture of coconut milk, jelly noodles made from rice flour with green food colouring, shaved ice and palm sugar. This only costs around RM3 which...
